So, this is my submission into a contest for the snake charmers. This is my first contest piece. We were suppose to do something that symbolizes spring. So, I found a picture of a flower one of my friends had taken, and put a snake going around it, in a knot like fashion. All in all, i think it turned out alright. I could have spent a lil more time on the flower, but oh well.
Snake = ink and oil pastel Flower = watercolor and oil pastel
that looks really cool. yeah, the scales look nice, but i just wish the flower were a bit more detailed... well, maybe not detailed, but crisper, more definition in the lines...
the flower looks very soft and smooth =] with good transition of colours where you shaded and wow...those are a lot of scales >_> but go you! lol how long did this take?

well, I knew the perameters of the piece. I saw a picture of a flower that had a lil lip under one of it's petals, and though to myself "it'd be cool if something was poking out from under that." So, I figured since the piece had to have a snake in it, I'd put that in. And then I felt like a celtic knot kind of feel in the background would go well.
